Reconstruction: Italy to provide Rs364m

For reconstruction of irrigation infrastructure damaged during 2010 floods along Kabul river in Charsadda and Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Italy has decided to provide Rs363.90 million for the reconstruction of irrigation infrastructure damaged during 2010 floods along Kabul river in Charsadda and Peshawar, according to an agreement. Dr Marco Marchetti and Ms Nasheeta, on behalf of the Management Committee of the “Pakistan-Italian Debt-for-Development Swap Agreement” and Flood Damages Restoration Director General Engineer Muhammad Naeem Khan on behalf of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Government signed the agreement in Islamabad on Monday. A project has been planned for reconstruction of 16 flood damaged locations in the districts of Peshawar and Charsadda. The project has been agreed to be financed under the “Pakistan-Italian Debt-for-Development Swap Agreement” between the government of Italy and the government of Pakistan.
