Motorway tragedy: Three killed in another salt range crash
Like accidents in the past, the cause of the accident was brake failure.
KALLAR KAHAR:
In yet another accident in the salt range section of the Lahore-Islamabad motorway, three people perished and a dozen were injured in a collision between a bus and a 16-wheeler container truck. Like accidents in the past, the cause of the accident was brake failure, after which the bus driver lost control and hit the 16-wheeler. After the collision, both vehicles overturned and hit the median. More than a dozen people including the truck driver and his assistant suffered injuries. They were shifted to a nearby hospital where the driver, his assistant and another man died. Hospital officials said they received twelve injured. The bus (ND 2349) was coming from Abbotabad and was headed to Faisalabad. Most passengers on the bus belonged to Chiniot, Faisalabad and Hassanabdal. The Motorway police and Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) took part in the rescue operation.
