Cricket fever catches up with Firdous Ashiq Awan
Awan, who was injured in a car accident in December last year, took to the pitch as she inaugurated the Benazir Bhutto Women's Cricket Tournament in Lahore.
But as she swung the bat to hit the first ball she ever faced in her life, she stumbled prompting her entourage to swiftly come to her aid and steady her. She then braced to face her second ball, which she also could not play.
By the third ball, however, Awan understood the ropes of the game and managed to hit the ball. Encouraged, she then asked for a fourth ball, which she also hit past the crease.
Awan, a media darling, has been in the news for many a personal stories. In November last year, she told Express 24/7 that she enjoys eating kaleji.

This Stalinist type worship of BB is getting truly ridiculous. This is someone who contributed very little in terms of prosperity and success for Pakistan and Pakistani's as a whole. Other similar examples include:

This is not typical nor representative of a true democracy. This is something I'd expect in North Korea or Uzbekistan. Stop playing politics over every single announcement or inauguration!
