RAWALPINDI:

The Lahore Grammar School (LGS) Islamabad won the Margalla Inter-School Football Championship after beating the City School 3-1 on Friday.

The championship’s final match was held at the Global System of Integrated Studies (GSIS) H-8 ground where Shahrukh from LGS Islamabad scored the match’s first goal 20 minutes into the first quarter. City School’s Hammad balanced the scoreboard shortly after.

Both teams tried to score quickly into the match’s second half but Shahrukh scored another goal bringing the score to 2-1 within the first five minutes. With a strong defence, LGS clamped down on the City School’s chances of levelling the scores again and with a final goal, took home the championship.

The championship was organised by GSIS in collaboration with Capital Development Authority (CDA), where twelve schools of Islamabad participated. The championship drew a large crowd out to support their teams.
