KARACHI: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) welcomed several new politicians into its fold on Friday.

In Sukkur, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MNA Zafar Ali Shah’s nephew Asad Ali Shah and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Sindh Sardar Ghulam Shabbir Lakho joined the Imran Khan-led party. Ex-PPP leader in Gizri Alamdin Mengal also joined the party with about 200 supporters after meeting PTI Sindh central vice president Najeeb Haroon.

Mengal alleged that members of the PPP had conspired against him and replaced him with Najmi Alam. “I did not speak to anyone from the PPP leadership to tell them about my decision,” Mengal told The Express Tribune. He said that he would use his influence in other areas such as Hijrat Colony and Shireen Jinnah Colony to attract more workers. PML-N Sindh general secretary Saleem Zia was unaware of the development.

So all the bureaucracy that once worked under Musharaf, then zardari will start working under Imran. Does it mean since lower cadre is the same, there can’t be any change? Change is brought by the leader and not by the second or third tier leadership.

I was in PML-N but now I am realizing fro 2 years that PML-N is selfish party and now I am convinced that no enthusiasm in PML-N to change Pakistan and PTI is much better party for Pakistan. SO shall I make decision on my judgement or I will be considered LOTA? I mean help me to decide that shall I remain stick to the party on which I am not convinced or join which I think better for Pakistan? Aik dafa ghalti ki hai to hamesha us par rahoo?

I am waiting for your reply so I may decide.

Please go and vote for Zardari, Nawaz, Altaf or musharraf if you think they will treat you better….. We believe in Imran Khan and his decisions …. KAPTAAN will never let us down !!

im baffled at how some of our youth behaves like a radio channel repeating ” oh same old faces where is the revolution blah blah blah” brothers n sisters plz try n understand….. by taking big members from other parties those parties are breaking up..,…they r being crushed down….. collapsing internally…..so phase 1 accomplished… now when the candidates are given ticket thn u cn cry who got from where as Chairman said himself. however plz note If for Eg Kasuri gets a ticket as he has no financial corruption charge on him than dont start crying…. because he may nt appeal to someone in karachi lahore bt in his Village they love him n vote for him ( im using it as an eg i dnt know this for sure) they will not accept anyone else. Bt tht doesnt mean he will hijack the party…. evn in musharaf regime do u really think he made the big policies? no it was Musharaf himself…. n jst like the leadership will decide and he will have to implement….. bt im nt evn for a sec saying take corrupt politician or in fact if its found out tht the politician does moral corruption as well ( for eg getting prostitutes Alcohol etc) he should nt be allowed.

to bring revolution elections need to be won first. rural politics in Pakistan is very difficult
PTI need people from sindh to join pti. Pti youth should stop cribbing and start taking criticism.
    trust your leader

@adeel pmln dont care if u leave them! In the west where democracy is Very strong ppl look at party manifesto. They look at the policies proposed by the parties. They look at the leader n his/her charisma, and not the individual politicians representing the party. This is because change is led by the leader n the members follow those policies. But unfortunately in pakistan in the past politics is based on individuals with power n money. An average middle class person cant enter politics because no one will vote for him. so support the party which is best for u, ur future generations n ur country. Now u decide who will that be ? Nawaz, Zardari, Imran, Altaf, Musharraf???

    Jan 22, 2012 - 5:17PM

@Adeel: If you were previously in PML(N) and now joining PTI then it is good as for as you are a simple voter. But if you were Tareen, Laghari, Qureshi, Makhdoom and you were in PML(N) for some personal gains and now you see that gains in danger and shift to PTI for personal gains then it is wrong. So for all the lotas joining PTI are those self-serving politicians who changed political parties for power, tickets and personal gains. That is it and make your mind, don’t move with Lotas. PTI is just a bunch of Lotas who are moving on the hints given by Establishment.

PTI is turning out to be Bangladesh cricket team lead by Ricky Ponting and aiming to win next ICC World cup. How foolish????
If this is so called revolution, thank God i am not a part of this stagnation.

    dear Pakistanis !!

lets not fall into discussion that bla bla worked under musharaf or zardari now will work under Imran and they will not be able to change this country… dear countrymen u cannot stop anyone from making their decisions… important thing is when a theif make a decision amongst his friends who r also theives nobody will stop him from his act..every one will ask him to do it and will stand by him and will ask for their share in it.. BUT when the same theif sitting with good people .sharif people, nice educated people and ask them to support him in his robbery plan, NO ONE will support him and no one will stand with him… and time will come that sooner or latter he will QUIT his plans and instead work as a sharif n decent person like his other fellows…

the thing is our enviroment..our leadership… if our leadership is corrupt how can a decent guy work with him? and if he has to work with him ofcourse he must have something in his sight..something in his heart..may be a limitation.. but there is that day when he quits it… so lets not fall into conclusion so sooner…let them put their share in PTI and see how Imran khan and PTI LEADERSHIP deal with them.. lets just give them one chance.. even Allah gives everyone chance how can we human being not give them a chance? we have tried Zardari n nawaz sharif with these same people so why cant we try these same people with IMRANKHAN??? what is wrong with that… we will throw and reject them out just like others if they fail… lets have faith dear countrymen… its not over for us.. its just the beginning…

This is unimpressive. Why? Because their uncles and aunties are in opposing parties and with their nephews and nieces will remain ‘hand in glove’ in corruption. This is commonly referred to as,

People who say “people from ppp & pmln and rest parties are joinging Imran Khan then where is the revolution”, I would say in Pakistan mostly people were attached with them because of no other Honest Leadership and now they are looking towards Imran who hs a very bright past and future ahead InshaAllah so they are joining.

You can not say they shouldn’t join him because they were with PPP & PLMN in past. I would suggest them to read history, especially Islamic history to correct their senses.

Those criticising actually need any excuse to criticise and to keep supporting their old parties. That is the bottomline. Without these people in the party they said Imran was all alone and insignificant. With them they say it is a “lota” party. Well for your information, any party growing from scratch is bound to be a “lota” party isnt it? And explain to me how you can stay away from old politicians in rural areas and still gain power to bring about a change. I know its a catch-22 situation but this way atleast you stand a chance. Otherwise, you can stick to your rigid principles and be a bystander and watch the country go down the drain.

This debate shows how good methodology IK is playing…….let people talk about ‘lotas’, let them steam off and move on. By the time of elections, he would have mobilized the public and during election campaign this will no longer be an issue. I am sure IK will divert the campaign to the real issues by then and no one would be talking about this lota crap anymore.

Its not strange, prominent political families cover all bases. Also its not good for PTI. True supporters get discouraged.

If the new people promise to work according to PTI mission, they should be welcomed. If they try to go their old ways, they should be thrown out. PTI will force all of these people to declare their assets.
Remember: Philosoply should be new. Faces come second. If faces were more important, Prophet Mohammad would not have welcomed Hazrat Umar and others who were enemies of Islam before.

Imran is taking in the next generation of all the feudal politicians. Someones son and someones nephew rather than joining PPP or PML is now joining the party of the youth…PTI. Yeah one needs some electables to make an impression but this is ridiculous now. These families are realigning themselves with power again and Imran is the vessel for that. In my humble opinion he is losing credibility quickly by letting all these people on board. Ending the family and dynasty politics does not mean the the party head does not have any kids to field, it should mean an end of dynasties at all levels.
Would be very interesting to C how he plans to clean up his act once the tsunami passes and he is left to deal with all this junk from everywhere.

I will not vote for Nawaz, Musharaf, Zardari and Altaf. They are status quo and I can’t make the mistake again. Imran Khan seems a plausible option with good credentials, better than the others.
