Cricket: Stars outclass Strikers in Big Bash
Only two other batsmen reached double-figures for the Strikers.
On the back of some excellent bowling by Clint McKay and a quickfire innings by David Hussey, Melbourne Stars sauntered to a comfortable six-wicket win over Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League. Batting first, the Strikers were bowled out for a below-par 125, with Callum Ferguson’s 29-ball 41 being the highlight of the innings. Only two other batsmen reached double-figures for the Strikers. McKay finished with fine figures of three for 17. In reply, the Stars finished on 129 for four, despite being reduced to 38 for three at one stage. Hussey’s 36-ball 41 and Cameroon White’s 28, which he scored off 30 deliveries ensured there were no other major hiccups for the Stars as the hosts overhauled the total with ease.
