According to Express News, a few employees who said that they hold a Master's degree in Business Administration could not produce any legitimate proof of their qualification and only had their result cards with them.
Certain employees had degrees of universities black-listed by the high court.
Employees who were promoted from group four to five in the hierarchy were not even interviewed and assessed.
However, PIA Spokesperson Sultan Hassan maintained that the credentials are investigated and verified, and if in case any employee produces fake certificates, they are fired immediately.

There was a story recently that Indian pilot's were faking their flight hours.
At least these are not pilot's in the cockpit.

Irresponsible statements like suggesting closure of the organization OR making a gross generalization indicating ALL PIA senior staff have fake degrees is the height of ignorance! Some do, some don't. Why should an entire operation cease to exist for a few who are corrupt? It is still provides and creates JOBS for our hopeless economy. It gives people from sweepers to higher-up authorities to provide bread and butter for their family. It is besides the point that they pay a meager salary.

PIA means "pia" (dearer) and any one who loves to hide credentials are most welcome in PIA. "pia" can do any thing for such people. After all they are also human beings.
