The project will now be known as Arfa Karim IT Media City.
The decision to rename the mega project was taken on the request of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain.
According to a press release issued by the MQM, the IT Media City is a world class project spread over 200 acres of land near the Super Highway.
Arfa, 16 years old, child prodigy, Microsoft professional and winner of the president’s Pride of Performance, breathed her last on January 14 at the Combined Military Hospital in Lahore.
The IT genius had an epileptic attack on December 22 and had been in a coma since, while well-wishers prayed and watched her progress closely.

Very appreciating decissions by both leaders to remember Arfa Karim. The Core Commander Lahore is also requested to name the Children's Ward CMH Lahore Arfa Karim Children's Ward. Where she is under treatment and well looked after by the Doctors and staff.
