National Tariff Commission Chairman Prince Abbas Khan visited Indus Motor Company recently during which he inspected manufacturing facilities and reviewed the company’s progress, says a press release.
Khan noted the significant contributions made by the automobile industry, particularly Indus Motor, to transfer of technology, local manufacturing of vehicle components and increasing employment.
Acknowledging the challenges faced by the auto industry, he assured them of assistance in putting the proposal before the government about used car imports and mis-deceleration and under-invoicing of auto parts.
Indus Motor CEO Parvez Ghias praised Khan’s role in supporting the company both in becoming a major automobile manufacturer as well as a significant contributor to the economy. PRESS RELEASE

This reminds me of Adam Revo. Pakistan's very own homemade brand. Had it survived, car prices would have been more competitive today. Thank to Shaukat Aziz and his corruption, we dont have that option.
This is price list of Toyota cars in India.

In Pakistan Toyota Altis 1.6L A/T SR costs around Rs 20,00000 which is around 22000 dollars. The 1.8 corolla would be even more expensive in Pakistan. Compare the labor costs in US and Pakistan and see how much profit, the corrupt car companies in Pakistan are making.
In US, 1800 cc new corolla costs 15000 dollars with many more options than the Pakistani version. Pakistani manufacturers are taking the consumers for a ride.
The IMC maker of Toyota brand cars in Pakistan need to manufacture 1000cc car with automatic option. Many Pakistani returning to Pakistan find difficult to adjust to stick shift and the only option available is to buy used Japanese imports. Highly requested to manufacture 1000cc car with automatic option in Pakistan. Pakistan economy is growing especially the agricultural sector, the IMC maker of Toyota brand should seriously plan to manufacture 1000cc with automatic option as well as make viable to purchase for the locals. It is not desirable for the Japanese makers to keep on increasing prices to adjust to ever devaluation of Pakistan rupee against U.S. Dollar and appreciating Japanese Yen. Serious consideration requird on the auto makers to consider toward better deletion program as well as to reduce import of auto parts. Pakistan can export its autos to the outside world.
I like Toyota Cars in Pakistan especially Toyota Corolla is a winner. Auto parts quality and Toyota service to be lauded. I feel at ease with my Toyota Corolla and the support system along with. I would request to IMC to manufacture 1000 cc Vitz, with automatic option in Pakistan. There is a great need for 1000cc automatic car with reasonable affordable price in Pakistan. Please do not increase prices just to adjust to ever devalution, lets seriously find an answer by introducing 1000 cc car with automatic option. Thank You Toyota.
