Speaking to the media in Rawalpindi, Malik said that the number of suicide attacks had decreased because of the support given by religious scholars and the action taken against those who were planning attacks.
Regarding the attack in DI Khan on Saturday, Malik said that he had ordered the interior secretary to investigate the incident.
He further said that police stations and check posts in sensitive areas should have proper protection and added that he has suggested the formation of a force that will give aerial and additional support to security forces when their convoys are on the move.
When asked about Mansoor Ijaz, the interior minister said that he was an American citizen and a visa will be issued to him whenever he applies.

All terrorists please lay down your arms, or else Rehman Malik will come on the tv again and show his latest cellphone.
We don't want any Peace talks with them, Kill them all. They killed our brother and sisters in the mane of Islam, they cannot be our brothers.
@Shyam: Yours is the best and sanest analysis, sir. Even the mighty US has, since, dropped the demand that Taliban lay down their arms and grovel as precondition to talks. They never laid down their arms even before the British.
@Patriotic: So, what kind of crackdown has been going on for the last several years? For 29 months Bara is under curfew. Everyday about a dozen militants are being killed. Do you want a nuclear bomb dropped to wipe out the entire Pashtun population?
@Aliya: When are protests held against the enemy in a war? Here it is war. "OUR war."
Dismental these streategic assets as early as possible .
Ha ha....
or else what?
If I kill thousands of innocent citizens of Pakistan; and in return will government arrest me? or it will come to me for TALKS? What a shame Minister sahib !
It's about time we had a REAL crackdown on these terrorists. Had they been strategic interests not a single drop of innocent Pakistani blood would have been shed. What happened is quite to the contrary. We may have made a mistake by deploying the army in some areas before, but that time is long gone. Terrorists are swarming those areas now, and the right time for a military operation there like the one in Swat was ages ago. We need to salvage what is left of our country before it all falls to pieces.
You ask someone to lay down arms when you are in a position of power vis-a-vis the enemy. Here it seems the Taliban/Balochistan have the upper hand and seem to be killling Pak security forces with ease. Hence asking your enemy to lay down arms when he is actually winning the war seems rather funny
