KARACHI:

Shah Faisal Colony grew tense after an attack on three Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) activists on Tuesday.

The three party workers, Nadir, alias Bharam, Ahmed, 30, and Imran, 32, were sitting at a vegetable shop in Cantt Bazaar near Drigh Road. Two motorcyclists, one in a shalwar qameez and another in a t-shirt and jeans, came and shot at the men.

Nadir and Ahmed were taken to Jinnah hospital while Imran was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

Ahmed died while being treated while the doctors said that Imran was in a critical condition. A score of party workers and supporters also came to the hospitals and protested against the attack. Angry relatives and party workers also protested when Ahmed’s body was brought home to Shah Faisal Colony. Nadir was affiliated with Unit 109 of the party’s Shah Faisal Sector.

SHO Zawwar Hussain Shah said that the family have not yet registered a case with the police.
