JAMRUD: A schoolboy was injured when the Khasadar Force resorted to aerial firing to disperse a group of protesters in the Jamrud sub-division of Khyber Agency. Residents of the Mulla Gori area were protesting against frequent power outages. They turned violent following the aerial firing and threw stones at the vehicle of political tehsildar Asmatullah and at a Khasadar check post. They also blocked the road. They said that their protest would continue until the government announced an end to blackouts. However, they ended their protest after chief of Aman Lashkar Abdul Manan and chief Malik of Mulla Gori tribes Fazal Maula assured them on behalf of the political authorities that power outages would be ended.
