LAHORE:

Two men gunned down former chairman of the executive committee of Pakistan Bar Council Advocate Nasrullah Warraich on Monday at his home.

According to Chaudhry Naseer Ahmed, a friend, two men asked Warraich’s servant to call him to the door. “They said they wanted to hire him for a case. When he came out, they shot him in the head and fled” Ahmed said. Ahmed said that Warraich was rushed to Sir Ganga Ram Hospital where he died. The body was then sent to the Mayo Hospital mortuary for an autopsy. Ahmed said that Warraich’s son Tahir Nasrullah Warraich had ruled out enmity. But he said that his father was pursuing the murder of additional advocate general Arif Bhinder. The duty officer at the police station said that no FIR had been registered yet. The Pakistan Bar Council, the Supreme Court Bar Association, the Punjab Bar Council, the Lahore High Court Bar Association, and the Lahore Bar Association have given a strike call for Tuesday.
