The hearing was adjourned after Justice Nasirul Mulk’s father passed away. Mulk is a part of the 11-member bench hearing the presidential reference for revisiting the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto (ZAB) murder case.
Awan has not filed any reply to the court in the case.
Earlier during a hearing of the ZAB reference case, the Supreme Court had taken notice of Awan’s press conference and had issued a show cause notice for the cancellation of his lawyer license.
The apex court also adjourned the hearing of the Zulfikar Ali Bhutto reference case until Awan tenders an unconditional apology for ‘ridiculing’ the superior judiciary.
Last week, the apex court had issued similar contempt notices to the PPP’s top cadre, including Awan, for criticising the Supreme Court’s order in Memogate case at a press conference on December 1, 2011.
