Saluting altruism: Memon community praised for building medical centre

The facility has 360 beds, will have a medical university, a nursing institute and a research and development complex.

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leaders Syed Mustafa Kamal and Adil Siddiqui visited the Memon Medical Institute on Saturday and lauded the people responsible for setting up the not-forprofit venture.

They pledged their full support and claimed that if 15 similar facilities were to be established in the city, then most of its health requirements would be met.

Two of the hospital’s trustees, Peer Muhammad Diwan and Arif Habib, said that it has been constructed in accordance with international standards and that the medical equipment is of the best quality.

The facility, which has 360 beds, will also have a medical university, a nursing institute and a research and development complex. The entire project has been funded by donations from and efforts of the Memon community.
