LAHORE: Four robbers entered a house in Shadbagh area of Lahore and looted cash and valuables worth Rs20 million late on Saturday.

The robbers entered the house of Abdul Aziz, who had recently come to Pakistan from the United Arab Emirates to attend his niece’s wedding. Aziz and his three brothers were present at the time and the robbers thrashed them mercilessly at gunpoint. They also beat up the servants. All those present in the house were then locked up in one room and tied up.

Police said that robbers stayed in the house for over an hour and searched each and every inch of the house. The culprits, it said, drove a white Toyota Corolla. It said that the family has shared who they suspect could be responsible and they are investigating them.

“We had about Rs2.5 million, 57,000 dirhams and 10,000 riyals in cash. The amount of money was to be paid to a man from whom we had bought a house in Faisal Town,” Aziz told The Express Tribune. “They also took away three MK-47 rifles, two pistols, 2,300 bullets, imported goods, perfumes, shampoos and even chocolates.”

Aziz said that the family suspected one more man but was weighing the options before sharing that information with the police.
