Health programme manager Khalil Rasjed Dale, a British national, was on his way home from work in a clearly-marked ICRC vehicle when he was abducted some 200 metres away from an ICRC residence in Chaman Housing Scheme Quetta, a high security zone where offices of most of the international humanitarian organizations are situated.
Police had carried out raids in different areas of the provincial capital and arrested 50 suspects for questioning. However, law enforcing agencies have failed to find any clue about the whereabouts of the kidnapped ICRC official.
A case has been registered in the Bijli Road Police Station.
According to the ICRC website, despite the incident, the ICRC will continue doing its humanitarian work in Pakistan.
The ICRC has called for rapid and unconditional release of its kidnapped staff member.

When the police arrest 50 suspects, you know they don't have any specifics yet. Poor Mr Dale, I think he's gonna be an unwilling guest for an extended period of time.
