Public Health: Rs417m approved for DHQ’s upgrade

DCO said directions have been issued for inviting tenders for construction of a new building at the DHQ.

SARGODHA: The government has approved Rs417 million for the upgrade of Sargodha district headquarters (DHQ) hospital, DCO Azmat Mehmood said in a meeting on Thursday. The meeting was attended by SE (Building) Mukhtar Khokhar, EXEN (Building) Shahid Mehmood, EDO (Health) Dr Habib Ahmed and Medical Superintendent Dr Naeem Ahmed Shaikh. The DCO said directions have been issued for inviting tenders for construction of a new building at the DHQ. He directed the Building Department to immediately start work on the project. He said the project should be completed by June. He also directed the officials to shift the offices of the EDO (Health) and the Director Health from the hospital premises. The EXEN (Building) told the meeting that hospital building would be completed in four stages and Rs100 million had been released for the first phase. He said four blocks including the ENT, the Neurosurgery ICU ward, the CSSD, administration block, cardiology ward, dialysis block, operation theatre and an emergency ward will be constructed.
