Ignoring Court Orders: Bench to hear case against PM

LHC constituted a 3 member full bench to hear the petition against PM Gillani accusing him of ignoring court orders.

LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Justice Shaikh Azmat Saeed on Wednesday constituted a three-member full bench to hear the petition against Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gillani accusing him of ignoring court orders. Justice Umer Atta Bandiyal had referred the petition to the chief justice for constitution of a bench as some constitutional points were involved in it. The bench consists of CJ Saeed, Justice Nasir Saeed Sheikh and Justice Chaudhry Shahid Saeed. Petitioner Allah Baksh Gondal through his counsel AK Dogar contended in his petition that the prime minister was not implementing the Supreme Court orders. He also contended that by violating the court orders the PM was usurping the Constitution. He requested the court to disqualify PM’s membership of parliament.
