Contempt of Court: DIG told to confiscate salary of ASI

In the drugs case, Waleed Khan and Muhammad Shahid are accused of possession of 137 kilograms of hashish.

LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday directed the deputy inspector general (operations) to confiscate the salary of Islampura Assistant Sub-Inspector Muhammad Boota and take departmental action against him for ignoring court notices. Judge Saeedullah Mughal also directed the Islampura station house officer to produce Boota in court on January 7. Boota is a prosecution witness in a drugs case but has not turned up for hearings despite the court issuing some 20 orders, including show-cause notices and bailable and non-bailable arrest warrants for the ASI. In the drugs case, Waleed Khan and Muhammad Shahid are accused of possession of 137 kilograms of hashish.
