Express News on Wednesday reported that the Minister's tirade did not end there, as he went on to say that he did not care whether he was in contempt of court or not. An animated Shah repeated this phrase a couple of times.
He added that the Pakistan Peoples Party had braved bullets to uphold the freedom of judiciary. Where was the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) then, he asked.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had issued contempt of court notices to Babar Awan for his outburst against the premiere judicial body of Pakistan in early December.
On December 1, the Supreme Court had admitted petitions pertaining to the memo scandal for hearing. Khursheed Shah, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Firdous Ashiq Awan and Farooq Awan sat alongside Babar Awan during a press conference when the former Law minister criticised the SC for admitting the petition. The SC taking note of this, issued contempt notices to those who were present at the present at the conference.

Courts and laws are for commoner only. Neither PPP nor its cronies ever cared about them. No wonder they were never supportive of restoring courts as they knew that independent courts will not let their action go unchecked. As their rein is close to an end they want to be called judicial martyred so that they can get sympathy vote from people in next election. Voting for them and their allies will be like giving a new life to curse that PPP and its allies has given to the country in last four years.
Justice should be IMPARTIAL, FAIR and UNBIASED. Otherwise A partial justice and biased judgments create an impression of politicized courts, I am afraid time is about to come when unanimous respect for Judiciary from across the Pakistan may fade way, like we used to hear terms Dogar courts and Kangro courts, new term may shape soon.
It is pitiable to see the remarks of our so to say educated elite. A man not caring for the turmoil through which a normal citizen is going through in the present government, he doesn't care for the institutions, so much so he is openly claiming for not caring for the Supreme Court notices, the only thing he cares is DEMOCRACY-E-E-E. What a Jamhooriat and a Jamhoora and what a supporter of Jamhoora? OH Allah help us.
only honourable people care about honour of court of law
What an example this Corrupt Govt is setting. Even if you are right or wrong you have to respect the orders or shut the courts down in this country. There is always no law for people sitting in the power & they are above the law. If you don't respect any Govt. Then don't expect a common man to do that.
The blame goes to SC. I mean you can't force anyone to respect you rather these are your acts who gives you respect and honour in the eyes of others. As they say, justice should not only be served rather it needs to be shown to others that it's being done. This SC has become a party against the government and it has lost all the respect in many eyes including the majority at Supreme Court Bar.
Courts knows about a clause in the constitution that allows them to use army or police to implement their orders, why are they not using it in cases like this and NRO
Good person or BAD he should be PUNISHED FOR SAYING this. IF a SO CALLED CUSTODIAN of GOVERNANCE ( Government ) will say that ...HOW DO THEY EXPECT COMMON PEOPLE TO FOLLOW & OBEY LAW...... If we need to CHANGE PAKISTAN for GOOD... We need to make him and people arrogant politicians like him AN EXAMPLE !!!!!!
