Express News on Wednesday reported that the Minister's tirade did not end there, as he went on to say that he did not care whether he was in contempt of court or not. An animated Shah repeated this phrase a couple of times.
He added that the Pakistan Peoples Party had braved bullets to uphold the freedom of judiciary. Where was the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) then, he asked.
Earlier, the Supreme Court had issued contempt of court notices to Babar Awan for his outburst against the premiere judicial body of Pakistan in early December.
On December 1, the Supreme Court had admitted petitions pertaining to the memo scandal for hearing. Khursheed Shah, Qamar Zaman Kaira, Firdous Ashiq Awan and Farooq Awan sat alongside Babar Awan during a press conference when the former Law minister criticised the SC for admitting the petition. The SC taking note of this, issued contempt notices to those who were present at the present at the conference.
