Tennis: Zubair beats Butt in straight sets

Top-seed Talha Zubair defeated Salman Butt in the main round of the men’s singles competition in the Sindh Sports Board Talent Hunt ranking tournament, prevailing 6-1, 6-0. In other fixtures, Saad Noor Sumar crushed his opponent by the same score-line, while Saud Shoaib beat Sufyan Shiwani 6-2, 6-2. Meanwhile, in the main round of the juniors under-17 event, Yahya Gabol defeated Shahmir Faisal 6-1, 6-2 while Aqeel Shabbir beat Shahzaib Nasir 6-4, 6-0. There were also victories for Nazif Ahmed and Saud Shoaib, with the former easing past Hania Khan 6-4, 6-2 and the latter battling past Nasrullah Khan 6-4, 4-6, 6-1.
