LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Friday issued a notice to the concerned station house officer (SHO) regarding the petition filed by the former chief minister and sitting Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MPA Sardar Dost Muhammad Khosa, seeking registration of a case against Missal Khan and others on the charges of kidnapping his former wife Zeba Khan alias Sapna Khan.
Khosa has alleged that the city police were complicit with his missing ex-wife’s family in harassing him and his family by accusing him of kidnapping her.
The PML-N MPA said that his former wife had been kidnapped by the respondent family, who, he claims, was not her real family. He further alleged that the supposed family was filing petitions in different courts just to harass him.
Khosa’s counsel blamed police of not taking any action against the “blackmailers” despite of many requests. He alleged that the police were in league with accused party [Missal and others].
Punjab Inspector General of Police, Capital City Police Officer Lahore, Race Course and Nawab Town SHOs, were made parties in the petition filed by Khosa.
Interestingly, Khosa in his petition has admitted that Missal is his former wife’s father. Paragraph no9 of the petition stated:
“[Khosa’s marriage was] solemnised with Zeba Khan alias Sapna Khan daughter of Missal Khan on June 2, 2010 and a daughter namely Mah Gul was born on February 28, 2011.”
It was further stated in the petition that Khosa has filed many applications demanding recovery of “the mother of his daughter” but to no avail.
His counsel, therefore, requested the court to issue orders to police to register a criminal case against Missal and other accused on charges of kidnapping Sapna.
After hearing initial arguments, Justice Sheikh Najmul Hassan issued notice to the concerned police station and sought reply by January 5.
The court also heard a petition by Missal against police for not registering case against Khosa for alleged kidnapping and murder of Sapna.
SHO Race Course appeared before the court and stated that Missal and his sons had not approach him. He, however, admitted that Missal had submitted an application.
The counsel also submitted Sapna’s passport, identification card and documents related to prove that she was Missal’s real daughter. The court made those documents a part of case record.
