SUKKUR: The Ghotki police have booked 27 policemen, including former Mirpur Mathelo SPO and two SHOs, for their alleged involvement in killing a villager in a fake encounter.
Nawabi Bozdar, a resident of village Rasool Bux Bozdar, had filed a petition in the Sindh High Court, Sukkur. According to her, a month ago a heavy contingent of police led by SPO Imtiaz Domki, Mirpur Mathelo and Khanpur SHOs Ameer Pathan and SHO Khanpur Mahar Jaffer Dasti raided their village. The police carried out a house-to-house search and manhandled men, women and children. They arrested Nawabi’s brother Sanjar Bozdar, whom she alleged, was killed by the police while he was in their custody. The police fabricated charges of an encounter to cover up the murder.
Following court orders, an FIR has been filed under sections 302, 452, 395, 342, 506/2 and 114 of the Pakistan Penal Code at the Mirpur Mathelo Police Station against 27 policemen, including former SPO Domki, former SHO Pathan, SHO Khanpur Dasti, ASIs Manzoor Jhatiyal and Haji Gadani, head constables Usman Chachar and Abdul Wahid Shaikh, police constables Asghar Gabole, Guhram Shaikh, Mir Mohammad, Mohammad Shabaan and others. However, no arrests have been made yet.
