KARACHI: The Karachi Transport Ittehad (KTI) announced a complete strike in the city to protest against the ongoing CNG crisis. The decision was taken when the All Pakistan CNG Association, CNG dealers and CNG Owners Association called for a strike in Sindh on Saturday. The KTI’s Haji Tawab said that all buses, minibuses and other CNG vehicles will not run on Saturday. He said that  the government is trying to divert attention from the price hike. “It is our first strike on the CNG issue after we converted our vehicles to CNG. The government has not yet told us to transfer the vehicles back to diesel”, he said. While the initial strike call is for one day, a decision to prolong it will be taken later. The Karachi Transport Ittehad, CNG associations and members of the business community of the city also held a protest rally at the YMCA ground on Wednesday.
