Demonstrations: Traders protest against extortionists

KARACHI: Traders and shopkeepers in Liaquatabad staged a protest against extortionists after two unidentified men on a motorcycle shot at people including 11-year-old Mobin at a hardware store near Dakkhana Chowrangi, said the Super Market police. Mobin was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital. The police claim that on Tuesday Mobin and his father were standing outside the store. The protestors burnt tyres and pelted cars with stones. They chanted slogans against the gangs in Lyari, the government and law enforcement agencies. SHO Mumtaz Shah said that the shopkeepers did not inform the police about the incident and added that they should have done so immediately.
