LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday summoned the Inspector General (IG) of Police on Wednesday on two identical petitions seeking actions against police officials for not complying with orders issued by courts.  In the first petition, Mohammad Inaam Ali submitted that he had been working as the chief financial officer of Sammi Logistics (Pvt) Ltd and was also the country general manager of Daewoo Pakistan Express, a sister company. Ali said he resigned from his post at Daewoo. However, he said, the directors of the company prepared a forged document which said that the petitioner had resigned from all positions at Sammi Logistics. Ali said he approached the sessions court which directed the Gulberg police station SHO and ASP to record his statement and act in accordance with the law. However, the police officials did not comply with court orders, he added.  In the second petition, Rahmat Masih contended that an additional district and sessions judge had directed the North Cantt SHO to register a case against people who stole his property documents. However, he added, that the police did not follow the orders  After preliminary arguments, Justice Umar Ata Bandial directed the IG to appear before the court by Wednesday (today).
