20 militants, 3 security personnel killed in Central Kurram Agency clash

In a separate incident, jets bombed militant hideouts in Upper Orakzai, killing 10 militants, say officials.

KURRAM AGENCY: Three security personnel were killed and 10 injured in clashes with militants in the Jogi area of Central Kurram Agency on Sunday, said sources.

Security forces claimed to have killed more than 20 militants in retaliation.

According to the official sources, there were two separate clashes. In the first incident, one security person was killed and the other succumbed to injuries. While one more security person died as militants clashed in the same area late evening.

More than 20 militants were killed when forces retaliated, while many others were injured, claimed security forces.

Also in a separate incident, jets pounded militant hideouts in Upper Orakzai Agency. Official sources said that some areas in Mamozai were bombarded and resultantly 10 militants were killed and five were injured while three hideouts were destroyed.

The claims, however, could not be verified as the areas are not accessible to journalists.
