The protestors took out a procession from Arya Samaj temple on Masjid Road and after marching through different parts of the city, staged a protest demonstration in front of the BA building.
The protesting people, including children, were carrying placards and banners inscribed with slogans demanding protection from criminals.
Addressing the protestors, Raday Sham and Dr Maher Chand, members of Hindu Panchayat, said police should investigate the killing of young Hindu trader Ravi Kumar, whose bullet-riddled body was found in Quetta after his family failed to pay the ransom money to his abductors.
The members of the Hindu community raised slogans against the government for its failure to protect the life of those belonging to minority communities.
Provincial minister for minorities Basant Lal Gulshan and Minister for Revenue Zamurkh Khan Achakzai addressed the protesting Hindu community members and tried to pacify them.
Achakzai said that the law enforcing agencies were constantly striving against the kidnapping gangs operating in Quetta and other parts of the province.
“Police have booked many suspects and also carrying out raids in different localities including Saryab and Pashtunabad areas of Quetta. Soon, the criminals will be brought to book,” he ensured.
The protestors called off their protest after the provincial minster assured them that he will arrange a meeting between a delegation of Hindu community and Chief Minister, to resolve the issues.

@maria: since you are "happily leaving", I am happy too. Many Pakistanis are doing that too. "happily leaving" Pakistan.
What are Hindus, or for that matter any nonmuslim, doing living in the Islamic republic of Pakistan? This was a state created for Muslims. So naturally nonmuslims would be treated as second class citizens. Maybe these people believed jinnahs contradictory statements without giving any thought to the foundational nonsecular nature of this state.
we are one and we will be one nation dont feel ashame as one of indian muslim brother said we ar in trouble but it will be solve.

@indian muslim....i can only feel sorry for you :)
This is GENUINELY sad ! For SHAME !
Every nation has problems, and so does Pakistan. To the indian trolls reaching conclusions that 'Pakistan has failed', this is not a forum where we debate over PK vs In, rather such articles are to spread realization and self-correction over such issues. We are, we will and we can incorporate hindus, christians and other minorities in our society.
@spudm, what do you expect from Mullahs? Haven't you seen their fatwas against kidnapping minorities? Why you are trying to link this issue with Islam? Islam is not reponsible. Otherwise, Hinduism is responsible for all crimes take place in India and other Hindu-dominated states.
Indian Government should provide all Pakistani hindus who want to leave Pakistan and settle in India with Indian Citizenship. Moreover, Pakistani muslims will be more happier if hindus leave Pakistan.
Outrageous this is. @Baloch, While Pakistan government has proved not to be up to the mark it isn't a surprise. Baloch themselves and their tribal system is what causes these kind of mishaps. look at Lahore, Karachi, mothing such as this happens. Baloch have to learn to realize that the pakistan problem is actually their self created problem. Yet again, Pakistani goverments have failed to develop Balochistan and I totally condemn that.
Hypocrisy comes out. Pakistan apparently was formed to protect minority rights. This country made in the name of minority rights mets out the worst treatment to its minorities. The irony of its double standards is not lost on anyone. When this is pointed the Pakistani people create grand conspiracy theories to hush it up. What a society!!!!
My Pakistani muslim brothers, I am ashamed of the treatment of minorities in Pakistan. While you guys relish and advertise a few bad incidents which happen in India to the minorities, the truth remains, that I am thankful to be an Indian muslim, where all communities still (most of the time) peacefully live with each other and people are not killed or discriminated against for following a certain religion or sect. Pakistan has a lot to learn from secular and assimilative societies like India. By being narrow minded and discriminatory, you have only hurt yourself and your people and economy. It's to wake up and do the right thing.
Where are the mullahs who are constantly telling people how to uphold the Islam's teachings and issue fatwas on various matters. Where are those who proclaim in the western world that Islam is a religion of peace? The Hindus who live in Pakistan have shown their love for the country by choosing to live there. Any nation should protect its minorities. By failing to protect its minorities Pakistan is showing the world that it does not care what happens to its minorities.
