Hockey: Peshawar crowned champions

PESHAWAR: Peshawar defeated Nowshera 2-1 in a thrilling finale to lift the Peshawar Inter-District Hockey Championship trophy. Nowshera took an early lead courtesy Samad Ali’s field goal in the fourth minute. However, the visitors could not hold on to the lead for long as Uzair Khan equalised through a beautiful move a few minutes later. Muhammad Ali scored the winner in the 24th minute and Peshawar were able to thwart repeated attempts on goal by Nowshera till the final whistle to be crowned champions.
