Cancellation of Plot Allotments: Court stays interior minister’s order

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday stayed the verbal orders of Interior Minister Rehman Malik to cancel the allotment of a plot in the National Police Foundation (NPF) to a senior police official. Tariq Abbas Qureshi had moved the court against the order pleading that he had paid for a plot allotted to him and had started construction on it. However, Malik verbally ordered the cancellation of allotments to police officials in NPF in the last one year. He had prayed to the court for cancellation of the order. The court stayed the minister’s verbal orders and sought para-wise comments in 15 days from Malik, the interior secretary and the joint secretary and the managing director of the Foundation. The hearing was adjourned till January 27.
