Memogate case: Army likely to submit rejoinder tomorrow

Army Adjutant General Branch officials meet Attorney General, discuss matters related to the army’s reply.

ISLAMABAD:
Army Adjutant General Branch officials met Attorney General Maulvi Anwarul Haq on Tuesday and discussed matters related to the military reply in the Memogate case, Express News reported.

The army is likely to submit its rejoinder tomorrow (Wednesday).

The court’s nine-member bench had asked army chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Ahmed Shuja Pasha to submit their response to replies submitted by Husain Haqqani, Mansoor Ijaz and the government.

The court had also asked the federal government to refute or affirm – within two days – the positions taken by the ISI and army chief in their earlier replies.

Zardari’s reply

President Asif Ali Zardari will meet Attorney General today and seek legal advice from him regarding his reply to the Supreme Court's notice.

Last week, when the president was unwell, the Attorney General had ruled out the submission of Zardari’s reply in the Memogate case.
