Hazara province: Activist blames rulers for deceiving people

HARIPUR:

The rulers are deceiving people with false promises regarding the creation of new provinces since they are opposed to plans for ameliorating their lives.

This was said by Tehreek-i-Suba Hazara (TSH) Chief Sardar Haider Zaman during a news conference on Monday.

“Had the PPP-led coalition government been serious, it would have created Hazara province after seven protesters were killed and over 150 were injured in police firing on April 12 last year,” Zaman claimed.

He said the government was a conglomerate of forces which was not serious in empowering the common man by addressing his problem at the grassroots level.

“They are not in favour of providing facilities to the people because they want to keep them subservient to them.”

Negating the claims of some Hazara-based PML-Q leaders who had vowed to make Hazara province a reality before the next election, Zaman said after the passage of the 18th amendment all members were bound to adopt the party’s stance, failing which they could be held accountable.

“They are political actors who have cheated Hazarewals for the sake of ministerial slots,” he remarked.

He expressed his resolve to continue the struggle for a separate Hazara province against all odds and to field TSH’s candidates for all provincial and national assembly seats and fulfil Hazarewals’ demand after winning the election.

Replying to a question, he said Hazara is bestowed with natural resources, including over 120 million tons of iron worth Rs1 trillion as well minerals, coal and thick forests.
