Hockey: WAPDA beat Railways to go top

LAHORE: Wapda defeated Railways 3-0 to go top in the 27th National Women’s Hockey Championship 2011.

It was Railways’ first defeat of the championship while Wapda, firm favourites to win the title, are yet to concede a goal in the competition with the final round of matches being played today. Meanwhile, in yesterday’s other games, Sindh Whites edged out Punjab Whites 4-3 while Punjab Colours defeated Balochistan 5-0. Two one-sided results were witnessed as Army thrashed Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa 16-0 and Higher Education Commission outclassed Sindh Colours 8-0.
