The matter of slapping the reformed general sales tax would come under discussion in the meeting, which would be attended by the provincial finance ministers, according a private TV channel.
Finance ministry sources said that the provinces would be asked to levy sales tax as soon as possible so that the confidence of the International Monetary Fund and other funding agencies could be restored.
The provinces would also be directed to increase the level of taxes to lessen the dependence on debts.
Sources also said that the prime minister had summoned another meeting on energy crisis on July, 27 to review the energy situation in the country.
