Forced Marriage: Man kills brother

BAHAWALPUR: A man was killed on Thursday, by his brother over a family dispute in Satellite Town. Police said that Afzaal had an argument with his brother Zulfiqar, who was allegedly forcing Afzaal to marry a girl from within the family. They said that Afzaal, who was interested in someone else, refused to accept his brother’s choice, which led to an argument followed by a fight. Afzaal hit Zulfiqar with a brick on the head and injured him severely. Afzaal fled away and the injured was taken to BVH Hospital by the family, where he succumbed to his injuries. One of the family members told the police that the two brothers had a fought over Afzaal’s marriage several times. A murder case has been registered against Afzaal, who is still at large.
