Governor and Politics: LHC asked to disqualify Khosa

Disqualify Khosa for involvement in political activities and misuse of government funds.

Express December 13, 2011

LAHORE: A writ petition has been filed asking the Lahore High Court to disqualify Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa for involvement in political activities and misuse of government funds. Advocate Afaq Ahmad alleged that the governor was violating his constitutional role and had indulged in political activities. He alleged that the governor, who is from southern Punjab, was spending government funds on the region because of his party’s (PPP) support for the formation of a separate southern province. The petitioner asked the court to declare the governor ineligible for the office.
