RAHIM YAR KHAN:
A man was shot dead and his brother was critically injured here on Sunday over an exchange marriage dispute.
Eid Nawaz and Haq Nawaz had married sisters of Zafar Iqbal and Arshad Iqbal. The brothers had agreed to give their sister’s hand in marriage to Zafar and Arshad but later they refused to do so.
According to the FIRs, Eid Nawaz was allegedly shot and killed in the morning by the Iqbal brothers when he came to open his shop on the Airport Road. Haq Nawaz was later attacked by the suspects at his house.
He was taken to Shaikh Zayed Hospital where his condition was described by doctors critical. The SHO said police were carrying out raids to arrest the suspects.
