LAHORE:

A petition has been filed in the Lahore High Court requesting that the University of Health Science (UHS) be restrained from holding MBBS Part-I examination for students of four medical colleges that have not been recognised by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).

Advocate Noshab A Khan filed the petition by filing a civil miscellaneous application in his already-pending writ petition against the establishment of the new medical colleges including Gujranwala Medical College (Gujranwala), Khawaja Safdar Medical College (Sialkot), Sahiwal Medical College (Sahiwal) and DG Khan Medical College (DG Khan). The lawyer said that the UHS had issued roll number slips to 400 students who will sit for the exam on December 19.  The petitioner prayed that respondents be directed not to hold exams until the court makes a ruling on the petition.
