Legal Proceedings: Fixing the judicial system ensures speedy justice: LHC CJ

RAWALPINDI:

Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Azmat Saeed Sheikh on Monday said the judiciary has been trying to ensure justice by fixing problems in the judicial system, while addressing Rawalpindi lawyers here on Monday.

In his first address to Rawalpindi lawyers after assuming his post, Sheikh said a strong bond between the bar and the bench could help in the provision of speedy justice to the public.

While acknowledging the system’s shortcomings, he stressed on the dearth of judicial officers and corruption complaints in the lower judiciary.

He ensured the lawyers of his full cooperation in establishing a national lawyers’ academy at the High Court Bar, pledging to deliver lectures there.

Sheikh was invited by the LHC Bar Association, Rawalpindi.  A number of lawyers from Attock, Rawalpindi, Chakwal and Jehlum were present along with high court and district court judges.
