Served: ‘If we win suit, we’ll put Rs1b in Karachi’

KESC has promised to use any money it happens to win in a defamation suit to supply free electricity to Karachi.

KARACHI: In an unusual public message, the Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) has promised to use any money it happens to win in a defamation suit against a pair of prominent businessmen to supply free electricity to Karachi. The Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry senior members were served legal notices after they accused KESC of intentionally cutting off power to industries. The pair wrote letters to the prime minister and president, blaming KESC for the power crisis.
