Anwar Ali ripped through the SBP batting line-up, picking up eight for 16 to help PIA maintain their unbeaten run in the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy, according to information provided by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

Chasing 230 to win, SBP were bowled out for a humiliating 40-run total on the fourth day to lose by 189 runs with new-ball bowlers Anwar and Ali Imran Pasha bowling unchanged to send the side packing in the 20th over. Pasha picked up two for 18 and Anwar finished with 13 wickets in the match as PIA stayed at the top of the 12-team table.

WAPDA tie with HBL

A dramatic day saw HBL and Wapda register the first tied match of the tournament and the fourth in Pakistan’s first-class history. Wapda, who resumed their second-innings at 10 for one, were all out for 190 as Ahmed Said and Asif Khan’s half-centuries failed to get them past the finish line.

NBP down ZTBL

NBP registered an impressive five-wicket win over ZTBL as they chased down the 199-run target in just the 42nd over. Nasir Jamshed and Fawad Alam got them a good start before Qaiser Abbas hit a 14-ball 31 to help NBP record their third win of the championship.

Elsewhere, Karachi Blues registered their fourth win after 10 matches, beating Rawalpindi by a massive 305 runs on the last day of their four-day match.

Peshawar victorious in Division II final

Fighting half-centuries by Akbar Badshah (54 not out) and Jamaluddin (58 not out) helped Peshawar recover from a precarious position to complete their chase of 153 in the Division II final of the Quaid Trophy against SNGPL. Peshawar were tottering at 43 for four but a century partnership between Badshah and Jamal ensured the hosts remained the front-runners.

SNGPL had started the day on 277 for eight and managed to add another 24 to their total before being bowled out. Fast-bowler Waqar Ahmed finished with a six-wicket haul for Peshawar who lifted the Division II title.

Chilli | 12 years ago | Reply There is a lobby working to eliminate talented players and support empty guns. Fawad Alam need a permanent place in the team due to his patience innings. He is next Javed Miandad in the middle order and perhaps best backup available for Younus and Misbah.
Aamir | 12 years ago | Reply Fawad Alam need a recall in place of Shoaib Malik. He deserve his place in both Test and One day squads. After excellent performance last year against South Africa, he was dropped for no reason.
