MIRPUR:

There is no ban on the entry of Kashmir-born member of the British House of Lords, Lord Nazir Ahmed, into Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), an AJK government spokesperson said on Friday.

“No restriction has been imposed by the AJK government,” the spokesperson said in a statement issued in Muzaffarabad. He added that Lord Nazir had started levelling baseless allegations against the AJK government and had himself created propaganda regarding a ban on his entry into AJK, merely to gain popularity, the spokesperson said.

“The Lord should refrain from hurling baseless and concocted allegations at the AJK government,” he advised.

Earlier, the AJK cabinet expressed its concerns over Lord Nazir’s association with former Sindh home minister Dr Zulfiqar Mirza when the latter met with Scotland Yard during his trip to London. The cabinet also declared him to be a ‘despicable man’ in a unanimous resolution.
