ISLAMABAD:

The city district court on Friday put Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)’s lawmaker Anjum Aqeel Khan on a 14-day judicial remand in the NPF land scam.

The member of National Assembly was brought to the court of senior civil judge Mahmood Haroon for hearing of the land scam case.

FIA’s Assistant Director Khalid Naeem requested the court to send Khan on judicial remand, saying that the investigation of the case had been completed and FIA would submit its charge sheet after two weeks.

Former managing directors of the NPF housing society Abdul Hanan and Chaudhry Iftkhar were also put on judicial remand. The court has asked the accused to be produced before the court on December 23.  On December 4, Khan was arrested by the FIA after the court of Special Judge Central refused to grant him pre-arrest bail for allegedly depriving the National Police Foundation (NPF) of acquiring land to develop a housing society.
