PU Funds: Naeem’s settlement plea accepted

Former Punjab University College of IT principal was accused of misappropriating around Rs2.8 million.

LAHORE: An accountability court released Dr Majid Naeem on Friday accepting his request for a settlement with the National Accountability Bureau. The former Punjab University College of Information Technology principal was accused of misappropriating around Rs2.8 million. Before his release Dr Naeem paid Rs950,000 as part of the settlement. He will pay Rs1.8m in two quarterly installments. A reference had been filed against the former principal by the National accountability Bureau in December 2010. He was accused of misappropriating the amount from university funds for personal use without approval from a competent authority.
