Education: Two HEC scholars return after completing PhDs

2 HEC scholarships returned after completing their doctoral degrees.

ISLAMABAD:


Two scholars on Higher Education Commission (HEC) scholarships returned after completing their doctoral degrees, HEC said on Friday.


Syed Hussain Shaheed Suherwardi completed his PhD from the School of Social and Political Studies, Centre for South Asian Studies, University of Edinburgh, Scotland. His final thesis was on Pakistan’s foreign policy formulation, where he analysed the interactions between Pakistani and American policymaking bodies. He is a senior lecturer at the University of Peshawar (UoP).

Liaquat Ali, a resident of Dagai village in Swabi, completed his PhD in Earth Resources (Geology) from Camborne School of Mines, University of Exeter, UK. His research was on developing exploration tools for precious and base metals using advance mineralogical/geochemical techniques and GIS in remote and glaciated areas of northern areas. He is working in the National Centre of Excellence in Geology in the UoP.
