KARACHI: The Pakistan Squash Federation’s (PSF) new secretary, Abdul Wahab Marwat, has vowed to stay clear of controversies that saw his predecessor banned and instead ‘work towards improving the standard of the game in the country’.

Marwat took over from Irfan Asghar, whose ban was recently overturned, and made his intentions clear straight away.

“I think the purpose of the federation is to produce quality players,” he said. “I’m looking forward to serving the federation in approaching that goal.

“Lifting the game of the players and giving them opportunities to groom their talent and perform well internationally is the federation’s duty. Therefore I think the officials should stay away from controversies.”
