Seminar: NAB committed to eradicating corruption

NAB Punjab chapter organises seminar to mark International Anti-Corruption Day.

LAHORE:
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Punjab chapter on Friday organized a seminar on “Prevention of Irregularities and Corrupt Practices in Public Procurement” to mark International Anti-Corruption Day.

Government officers from federal and provincial departments, members of public sector organizations, consultancy companies, academia and civil society attended the seminar.

Chief Guest Khurshid Anwar Bhindar, Director General NAB Punjab, while addressing the seminar reiterated NAB’s commitment to preventing and eradicating corruption from society.

Punjab NAB director, Atiqur Rehman highlighted the significance of International Anti-Corruption Day and informed the participants about aims and objectives of the seminar.


Guest speaker Khalid Mehmood Lodhi, Director Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) discussed the common irregularities and illegal practices in violation of the Public Procurement Rules 2004.

Fareed Ahmed Tarrar, Additional Secretary Finance, Government of Punjab briefed the audience on the financial management of the public procurement process.

Guest speaker Muhammad Jamil Bhatti, Former Accountant General Punjab delivered a lecture on internal controls in public finance.

The participants of the seminar actively contributed to the discourse by asking questions and commenting on various aspects of the topic.
