Cricket: ‘Hope Ponting fires after India tour’

As calls for Ricky Ponting’s ouster get louder, India’s Rahul Dravid feels that the former Australia captain is still one of the most feared batsmen in the world, according to espnstar.com. Dravid backed the Australian to regain his form but hoped Ponting did not choose the upcoming series against India to fire again. “He’s still a great player,” he said. “He’s still the best Australian batsman. From our perspective, I hope he can start a golden run after our series.” Dravid is one of seven Indian players who left early for Australia ahead of the series between the two teams to get acclimatised to the conditions.
